Buckys.Net

My family consisted of my Dad and Mom, Frank and Ethel Buckland, and seven brothers and sisters. I am the youngest of the family, so this history is based on a view from the bottom of the totem pole. (I’m sure all the other youngest children that read this can sympathize and understand that statement.)

The Buckland kids grew up in the southeastern part of West Virginia. My elder brothers and sisters were moved around to different towns and communities in this part of the state.

My Dad was a lumberman by trade, which caused him to relocate several times in the early part of his career, based on where he located his sawmill. Sometime in the 1940s he purchased a small farm along side Hungards Creek near a small community in Summers County West Virginia. Talcott, WV is where the Buckland Family calls home.

These are brief descriptions, and a story or two, from what I remember of my earlier years. I’m hoping as my siblings and relatives read this they will let me know of any inaccuracies.
