Talcott High School Class of 1968 Reunion..

Talcott Pirates

Well, it has been forty years since Donna and I graduated from good ol’ Talcott High School. The class of 1968, at the time, had the largest number of graduates to receive a diploma, I think the number was 50. Just like any high school class, we all went our separate ways to make our mark in the world, as well as to make a living. There were 15 of us that found our way back for this 40th anniversary celebration. Most of the returning classmates were the ones that stayed close to their roots. We had the reunion at the high school, in the cafeteria and gymnasium. We found that not much had changed during the last forty years with the exception that the rooms and halls had gotten smaller…(is that possible????). The school is no longer a high school, I think it is a middle school that is being replaced and will end up as a elementary school only. The rumor is that the cafeteria and gym will be spared and the rest of the school buildings will be demolished.

Something Borrowed, Maybe Stolen :-)

Anyway, my classmates that did show up looked really good, the first forty years after graduation have really been good to everyone. As you can see from the photo we had a nice meal, everyone brought a covered dish. There was a nice selection of dishes and was mighty tasty. I can’t believe some of those ladies learned to cook as well as they did, some of the guys even brought a dish that they prepared. Hats off to the cooks !!!

Social Hour....

Below is the evidence as to the attendees. A few of the remaining teachers were invited, only one showed up. Mrs. Yates and her husband made an appearance and was welcomed by all.

I will attempt to list the folks and hope I get their names correct.

Starting from the top right – Mrs. Yates, Donna (Snead) Buckland, Kay (Mann) Clarkson, Evelyn (Kincaid) Turner, Brenda (Deeds) ??????, Fred McDaniel, Robert Thompson, Rena (Hammonds) Thompson.
Bottom Row – Jeanne (Huffman) Thompson, Becky (Stennett) Martin, Jane Ellen (Mann) Meador, Martha (Boyd) Gill, Sandy (Boone) ?????, Lowell Kirkham, James Allen, Ikie Buckland.
